We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Import and Export Officer to join our logistics team. In this role, you will facilitate the smooth movement of goods across international borders while ensuring strict adherence to global trade regulations.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of hands-on experience in freight forwarding or shipping documentation and holds a degree in International Trade, Business Management, Economics, or a related field. You will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and government authorities.


Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and process essential shipping documents, including Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Insurance Certificates.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with local and international customs regulations (e.g., HS Code classification).
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of inbound and outbound shipments.

Logistics Coordination

  • Schedule and track shipments with freight forwarders and shipping lines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to coordinate cargo availability and stuffing/unstuffing schedules.
  • Communicate shipping schedules and delays to sales, procurement, and customer service teams.

Cost & Data Management

  • Verify freight quotes and invoices for accuracy against contracted rates.
  • Assist in calculating landed costs, including freight, insurance, and duties.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments in the ERP/TMS system for audit and reporting purposes.

Regulatory & Risk Management

  • Stay updated on changes in trade regulations, sanctions, and tariff laws.
  • Assist in applying for import/export licenses and permits as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education (Mandatory)

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or freight forwarding.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Incoterms 2020.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance processes and HS Code classification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or logistics software is a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
