Position Title: Import and Export Division Manager

Reports To: General Manager / DGM/ Operations Director
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
1. Position Summary
The Import and Export Division Manager oversees all international trade operations for SITCO, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian trade regulations and company policies. This role manages the import and export processes, coordinates with suppliers, freight forwarders, and government authorities, and ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The position requires strategic oversight, operational management, and leadership of the import/export team.
2. Key Responsibilities

| Import Operations | • Plan and manage all import activities, including supplier coordination and shipment tracking. • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian customs and import regulations. • Oversee documentation, duties, and clearance procedures. • Optimize import costs and delivery timelines. |
| Export Operations | • Manage export shipments, including documentation, permits, and customs compliance. • Coordinate with international freight forwarders and local authorities. • Ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction for export orders. • Identify new export opportunities and markets. |
| Team Management | • Lead, coach, and develop the import/export team. • Assign roles, monitor performance, and conduct evaluations. • Ensure adherence to SOPs and operational best practices. |
| Compliance & Risk Management | • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian and international trade regulations. • Manage risk related to customs, duties, and trade operations. • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. |
| Reporting & Analysis | • Prepare regular reports on import/export activities, costs, and operational KPIs. • Analyze trade data to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. • Support senior management in strategic decision-making related to international trade. |
| Other Duties | • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities. • Participate in strategic planning for logistics and international trade. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager. |
3. Qualifications & Requirements

| Experience | Minimum 5 years of experience in import/export management or international logistics, preferably in Ethiopia. |

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely and compliant completion of import/export operations.

5. Reporting & Authority
- Reports directly to the General Manager or Operations Director.
- Authorized to negotiate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities within delegated limits.
